Donald J. LaGrange (Donnie) is a Certified Financial Planner Professional ™ certified by the CFP Board of Standards. A graduate and former Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, Donnie served as an Army officer for over 21 years including combat tours in Bosnia and Afghanistan. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving as the Deputy Commander of the 2600-Soldier 42nd Military Police Brigade. He holds business certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma. He holds life insurance, annuity, and long term care licenses in multiple states. He also holds an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology (Adult Development) from the University of Texas. His organization leadership experience and passion for performance optimization shapes his client engagement style. He enjoys coaching his clients to optimize their personal and business financial performance, and you can expect to engage in goal setting and self-reflection at a depth that you may not normally associate with a financial advisor relationship.
A married father of 3 with two children attending college, Donnie loves to help families prioritize their time, energy and financial resources to prepare for retirement while providing for your family, being a leader in your professional career, and taking the time to enjoy your spouse along the way. Donnie also has an appreciation for the psychological and financial processes while retiring from a career. He enjoys helping others prepare for and navigate career transitions and retirement. To work with Donnie, he does not require a minimum amount of Wealth, but he does require a minimum level of motivation and goal orientation.
Donnie fills his time outside of work supporting Veterans and Children. He’s a Class Officer for the USMA Class of 1998, supports The 98 Fund, and locally has Served as the Executive Committee of his local American Legion post, and as the Chairman of the Rockwall Veterans’ Business Alliance. He has cheered for, coached, and sponsored youth events throughout his life including sports teams, bands, robotics, and gifted student populations. He is very proud to have coached 6 State Champion wrestlers, including one former student who recently earned 16U All-American honors, and support the Rockwall Robotics Team 1296 who have qualified for back-to-back World Championships!
